Position Summary: Performs skilled professional work, including coordination and oversight of the Town of Morrisville’s strategic plan. Provides consultation and guidance on elements of work, such as data gathering, methodology application, analysis, reporting, and performance management. Coordinates with staff, the leadership team, and members of Senior Leadership tasked with problem solving and provides training to administration and staff in a continuous improvement effort, including but not limited to Information Technology (IT) for software coordination and Communications and Outreach for website-specific data. Employees in this class require considerable independent judgment, initiative, and accountability. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Business Management.
Job Description:
• Manages and oversees the implementation, coordination, and maintenance of the Town’s Strategic Plan and performance measures.
• Manages and oversees strategic initiatives and performance improvement by assisting staff in the development of initiatives, coordinating, and facilitating meetings.
• Ensures alignment of departmental plans to town-wide goals and initiatives, offering training and coaching to departments.
• Oversees the Town’s performance management program and supports departments through consultation, measurement development and selection, data analysis, performance reporting and training for related software.
• Provides training to staff on continuous improvement methodologies (i.e. management best practices, benchmarking data).
• Provides support to staff by participating in meetings, and ensuring access to necessary tools (templates, resources, etc.)
• Implements, trains, and integrates staff to Strategic Plan tracking software and community-facing dashboard for reporting to administration, staff, Town Council, and the community.
• Coordinates objective, initiative, and outcome measure review on periodically specified term cycles.
• Manages and oversees special projects and ensures tasks are completed, deadlines and goals are met, and progress reports are submitted to administration.
• Serves as manager and point of contact for Strategic Planning software.
• Performs other special projects support, including but not limited to Strategic Plan and Key Performance Initiatives.
• Performs related work as required.
