Finance Director

City of Vallejo, California

The City of Vallejo, the largest city in Solano County and tenth most populous in the Bay Area, is home to approximately 124,000 residents and offers a vibrant, diverse community with rich cultural amenities, historic landmarks, and excellent connectivity to San Francisco, Sacramento, Silicon Valley, and Napa. Known for its affordability, strong sense of community, and active lifestyle, Vallejo features attractions such as Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Mare Island, and a thriving arts and dining scene.

Vallejo seeks a dynamic Finance Director to lead with strategic insight, operational excellence, and a commitment to public service. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking, process-driven leader who communicates clearly with staff, the City Council, and the community, anticipates financial challenges, maximizes resources, and mentors emerging leaders. California public-sector experience is preferred, though highly capable candidates from other regions will be considered. This is a rare opportunity to strengthen Vallejo’s financial foundation and help shape its resilient future.

The salary range for this outstanding opportunity is $179,950.37 - $218,730.93. Placement within this range is dependent upon qualifications.
